Time to Do it Afraid...Again

Fear can be crippling. Fear can keep us stuck. Fear can keep us from our calling. I've been afraid...I think. I finished writing a book almost a year ago. I believe fear kept me in the personal editing phase for too many months. "Will people want to read it?"

"Will they think it is good?"

"Will it help anyone?"

"What if people don't like it?"

"How do I go about publishing it?"

"What if it's a flop?" I've been saying I was going to begin offering the H.O.P.E. Family Recovery program to treatment centers, churches and communities for well over a year now. Fear has kept me from taking the first step toward doing it. "What if nobody likes it?"

"What if nobody wants it?" "What if I fall flat on my face?"

"What if, what if, what if?" A few weeks ago, the message at church was about the cycle of fear. Boy did that one hit home. Fear has been controlling me and keeping me from moving forward. HAS BEEN. NO MORE.

My book is now with a professional editor. The editing process should be wrapped up by the end of October. I'll be sending out some advanced copies as soon as I can get it published on KDP/Amazon. It should be available for ordering at the end of January or beginning of February 2027. The curriculum. For some reason, this has been the one I'm most scared to move off the starting block, and it is all because of fear. I've had to remind myself over and over there are people who are feeling alone and scared, just like I used to feel. The best way to reach them is to show treatment centers, churches and communities how to run a support group meeting. I have the curriculum ready to go. I have the data about how our groups have helped people. If I don't move off the starting block, I'm being selfish. I'm potentially keeping hurting people from finding education, support and community. I can't live with that any longer. I'm breaking the cycle of fear, and I'm just going to do it afraid like I did back in 2019 when I started this whole thing.

I can do it.

I can do it.

I can do it.
